My name is Joy Abel and I teach first grade here at Neillsville Elementary. I grew up in Stevens Point Wisconsin and graduated from UWSP in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education K-8. I taught 5th Grade for one year in the DC Everest School District but knew my heart was in teaching younger children. I was lucky enough to be hired at Neillsville in 1986 and have been happily teaching first grade ever since!

I met my husband, Mr. Abel, here at Neillsville Elementary and we raised two daughters who are now grown and living in Eau Claire and St. Paul. When I am not busy teaching or preparing lessons I enjoy reading, playing dominoes, watching the Packers or Brewers and relaxing at our cabin up north. But I am happiest when I get to spend time with my family!
