Social and Emotional Learning
Social and emotional learning, or SEL, is an important part of education and development. It is the process through which young people learn to manage their emotions, set and achieve goals, discover their own identities, develop healthy relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.
Through the Second Step Middle School Program, students at NMS learn tools to help them navigate the challenges ahead, and how to access resources that will help them build healthy social-emotional skills.
