COVID-19 Information
Gov. Tony Evers on March 13, 2020 ordered the closure of all K-12 Wisconsin schools, public and private, as part of the state's efforts to respond to and contain the spread of COVID-19 in Wisconsin.
The School District of Neillsville will close beginning Tuesday, March 17 and run through April 5, though it could be extended.
“Closing our schools is not a decision I made lightly, but keeping our kids, our educators, our families, and our communities safe is a top priority as we continue our work to respond to and prevent further spread of COVID-19 in Wisconsin,” Evers said. “Kids and families across Wisconsin often depend on our schools to access food and care. We are going to continue working to do everything we can to ensure kids and families have the resources and support they need while schools are closed.”
The announcement affects almost 855,000 students in more than 400 districts across the state - and adds Wisconsin to a growing list of states to close schools.
The School District of Neillsville will be providing at-home learning options for students during the times schools are closed.
To support the in-home learning, all students in grades 4-12 will be taking home their school provided chromebook.
