Create-a-Game
This is for grades K5-6
Purpose of Activity:
The purpose of the activity is to have students actively engaged in creating and participating in fitness games. By creating a game you will understand how physical fitness works and what it takes to create a fun activity for you and others to enjoy!
Your game should focus on at least one of the PhyEd components :
.
1- Aerobic fitness
2- Muscular strength
3- Muscular endurance
4- Flexibility
Materials Needed:
The fun part of this game is you can use any equipment. Use whatever you can find in your house or yard, some ideas are : Cones, Pins, Rackets, Balls of all sizes, Goals, Mats, Poly spots, Frisbee, bat, flags, Etc.
Next you will come up with your own rules of the game. Sometimes rules have to be changed or adapted as the game is played. Some things to think about: will this game have teams? Will this them have a winner? Is it fair for all ages?
Once you have completed your game I want you to either video tape your self-playing it or write it down and explain how to play it send your videos or written rules to Mr. Kuhn. Who knows we might use it in class one day ??!! |

The goal of the Physical Education program at Neillsville
Elementary School is to provide students with a basic
foundation of motor and manipulative skills, an
understanding of the importance of physical fitness and the
opportunity to develop effective personal and social skills.
Students will be provided with the skills necessary to make
decisions about physical activity for their own health,
enjoyment, challenge, self-expression and social interaction.
Our goal is to promote a positive learning environment that meets the needs and
abilities of students and encourages them to maintain a physically active lifestyle.

Student Expectations:
Students must wear sneakers properly
laced or secured with velcro made for use
on the gymnasium floor. Spiked cleats,
hiking or thick bottom boots, shoes with
heals, non-supporting slip-ons with or
without backs are not permitted for
physical activity. Safe participation
requires students to be dressed
appropriately. It is important that your
child wears loose clothing and refrains
from wearing any jewelry that might get
lost or broken, or cause injury.
